What's your height and what would you like to weigh?

Hi,

I'm back on Weight Watchers points program (at home) and am unsure how to set a realistic weight goal. I am 5'8" and when I married I was 160lbs. That sounds like a lot, but my FIL told me that if I didn't gain some weight I'd blow away (everyone was pretty surprised to hear that I weighed so much because I apparently looked less).

However, I really don't think that I looked that thin. I'm thinking that 145 - 150 is more right for me, but would like a few more opinions. I don't like the guide that says 5'0" should be 100 lbs and then add 5 lbs for every inch you are tall. It seems that 140 lbs on me would be too thin. However, I'd like to hear if you disagree with me.

BTW, my body frame is medium on top and large on bottom (pear).

So, what is your height and what do you think is the right weight for you?

Thanks for your thoughts!
Gina

I'm not one to really care what the scales tell me. I've always been the more "sturdier" of frames so numbers really bring me down. I instead focus on how I feel and how my clothing fits me. Inches around are also more motivating to me...I measure myself every six months to check my progress!

I'm 5'4 and a 1/2.

When we got married 20 years ago I was 5'7 and 90lbs. Way to thin. After my first ds was born I went up to 135 lbs and I think that was pretty close to perfect for my frame (small boned).
I gain most of my weight in my stomach so everyone thinks I am pregnant all the time! I think I would rather be pear shaped at least everyone wouldn't keep asking me when I am due or oh I didn't know you were pregnant!!! I think that is the worse thing ever. After my second I had a few people ask me after he was a month old when are you going to have that baby!!!! Ugh!

I'm 5"8 and 130 but let me tell you its not at all that great, I have the oppisite problem. I can't gain weight!!! Before having my kids I was always 145- 155 and med boned. I was athletic and felt good inside and out and now after having kids my thyroid is all messedup and I can barely put on weight and feel fatigued alot. People say "wow you look great, so much better than before you had kids" and I'm thinking, "What"? I thought I looked great back than!! I wasn't fat and felt great than. but people do act like I was bigger than. So weird how are society can be.

I am 5'4 and 1/2". I fluctuate between 118 and 120. I am sure that weight is fine, I just need to tone up my muscles.

I am 5'0 and a quarter. and I weigh 120 not 6 years ago when I was barely 5'0 I weighed 90-95 lbs (I was 15) Well, after having one DS I didn't lose much only about 15 pounds. But I think I weigh a good amount for my height. I don't mind it at all. NOW I do wish I could run, because I can't.

I am 5'6" and weigh about 150. I'd like to lose 25lbs (125) because that is the weight I felt most comfortable. (last weighed 125 about 8 years ago, before I had 2 children) I'm trying WW.
