Hampton Inn discount?

I don't know if anyone will be able to answer this question, but is there any way to get a discount on Hampton Inn hotels?

We are going on a week-long vacation and staying first in Branson, MO, then in Muskogee, OK, and finally in St. Louis. I am still investigating hotels in the Branson and St. Louis areas, but I do know that I want to stay at a Hampton Inn in Muskogee, OK. I've looked around and the price seems pretty firm there.

Does anyone know of a discount or way to get that price down at all? I called the hotel and they quoted the same internet rate.

Thanks!

Hi Oregano! My DH used to be in the Army, but has been out for several years now. That would have come in handy!

My children were running around wild so I finally just gave up my search and booked a lower-cost hotel instead! HA! But at least it is one less thing to worry about today.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Hi, a couple of ways that my family uses: Roomsaver.com - check out that site and also the Hilton Honors site - Hampton is a member. Try calling them toll free and ask for the best deals avail. Also, call directly to the motel you will be staying at- NOT the 800 number and usually late at night 10 pm or so when they aren't busy and ask them for the best rates. Just tell them that you'd like to stay there but feasibly cannot pay the stated online rate. Ask for a discounted room or if they can tell you where to get a coupon. Most folks are accomodating when asked. Hey, the worse he/she can say is nothing is avail. If so, try again in the morning with another employee... Best Wises and Safe Travel!

Hotels.com is great for booking at discounted rates. Plus, you can see what you're getting and read reviews before you book.

If you're more adventurous and don't really care if it is a Hampton Inn or not, try the "name your price" option on Priceline.com. We have been lucky enough to get $200+ hotels discounted to under $50 per night that way.

Another way we've received discounts for Hampton Inn hotel stays is to sign up for the Hilton Honors program (Hampton Inns are owned by Hilton Hotels). More on that here: Earn Hotel Points & Rewards with Hilton Loyalty Program | Hilton HHonors

Ways to Earn Hotel Discounts:
Only with Hilton HHonors can you earn both Points & Miles® for stays at 3,600 hotels worldwide and airline miles with over 50 airline partners. And we offer several unique ways to pile on the points — earn them through hotel stays or with participating credit cards; or, consider purchasing them if you are just shy of that trip to the Caribbean.

Partner Hotels: Waldorf Astoria®, Conrad®, Hilton®, Doubletree®, Embassy Suites®, Hilton Garden Inn®, Hampton Inn®, Hampton Inn & Suites®, Homewood Suites®, Home2 Suites by Hilton® and Hilton Grand Vacations® you can earn a world of rich rewards faster than ever.

If you are adventurous and don't have to have a specific hotel, we've had excellent luck using Hotwire. We stayed in Philly a few years ago and ended up getting a Sheraton hotel right in the city center area. We paid $80 a night and the website rate was $275 a night! We've also used Hotwire when we went to Universal Studios in Florida. We ended up with a Hampton Inn just a mile or so away from Universal. We paid about $50 a night and the internet rate was about $90. I have never been disappointed with a hotel we got through Hotwire. But you do have to be willing to stay in any hotel you get instead of picking a specific hotel. You do get to pick how many stars the hotel is rated. We've used Priceline as well but I have been happier with the Hotwire hotels.

Well, I guess that they didn't need my advice about how to get a good deal on their hotel room
