I just need to stay home and not go into a store at all, or I will fail. But I have a really good coupon that I forgot to use at the Children's Place...

You see, that is my line of thinking. I need help...

Sit down and figure out what expenses you will NEED to pay during the next three weeks. They could include your remodel since that was something that was in the works before the freeze. The important thing is to eliminate unnecessary impulse purchases. Good luck!

I'm extending it into February. Mainly because I just did okay in January. I'm really trying to change my way of looking at my money and how I spend it. Especially since I'm in the middle of a divorce. Although it is amicable it will mean changes financially.

We're in. We just started on the 29th of Jan. Doing well so far but I could really use some advice. From Feb 12 - 19 (final week of our freeze) I will be in the states on business. This is going to mean that I pretty much have to eat out, pay for transportation, hotels, etc. I'm not looking forward to spending the amount of money that will ensue and I could really use some pointers or tips on how to do this reasonably. On one hand, I am being paid for this but it's just a flat rate - my expenses come out of that so the less I spend, the more I make! The other thing is, I'm not sure how well DH will do on the freeze without me watching over his shoulder. He's doing ok so far, but just tonight he went out to rent a movie... Hopefully it's just a $1.00 rental! Anyway, I could definitely use the advice!

I'm still frozen.

My goal was to get to the end of the first week of February but I keep pushing it more more week. Now I'm going to try and make it all the way through February too.

Oh no!! So I have to give up fast food diet cokes again??? I'll die...just kidding! Sure I'll try to join back in. We haven't slid all the way back to our old ways, but we're moving back in that direction, so I need to put the brakes on again. The only thing is that I WILL put valentine's day on our approved spending list. But bye bye fast food and drinks. Hello home cooking!

Just wanting to clarify; if you've already completed the 21-day spending freeze and are currently on the modified spending freeze, you don't have to do it again. This thread is mainly for those who are wanting to start over and/or just joining us.
