When I take clothes out of the dryer, I sort them by person. Right now I have the baskets on a table in my laundry room, but the room is getting smaller and I need a new option. Does anyone have any ideas for storing the baskets (folding and putting away immediately is NOT an option)?

Welcome to Mommysavers!
We just have one laundry basket. When it's full I carry it downstaris. As things come out of the dryer I just put them back in the now empty laundry basket. When everything is dry and I have the time, I carry the basket back upstairs, dump it on our bed, and sort and put away from there.

At our old house, I had an old dining room table in my laundry room...so I had tons of room to fold, could put stuff in baskets, could have baskets for sorting dirty laundry as well. At our new house, no room for that! It was a bit of an adjustment for me, but I'm folding as soon as it comes out and putting in a basket. It just all goes in one basket. It's just what is working for me.

I've been trying to figure out a better way to do this too. Since it's just my two kids and I it has gotten a little easier. Since my son is getting a little older and has his own hamper, I have him bring me his hamper (we use those flexible ones with the handles) when it's time to do laundry. I do all the laundry then I just put his stuff back in his hamper and he brings it up and puts it away. If he has any funky dirty laundry I spray the hamper with lysol and let it dry before I put his clean clothes in. After that I just have mine, my dd and linens to do. Usually two baskets worth. I try to do them as they come out of the dryer.
