We discovered Duck Dynasty last fall and bought Season One to catch up. As with any good TV show, there are distinct characters that make it funny. In this case, it's the Robertson family - who...
This is the best, simple rattle for babies. The two bars make it easy to grasp, and it makes the perfect rattle sound when baby shakes it. Not so noisy that it's annoying or disruptive, but...
I LOVE cooking with canned fire-roasted tomatoes! They add a little something extra to every dish whether it be chili or spaghetti sauce. Before finding the Hunt's, I had to pay twice the price...
I tried it because there was a good deal at my local grocery store. My kids honestly aren't much of juice drinkers, but I am. I thought this would be a good beverage to try on my picky eaters. ...
I LOVE this product!!! I tried it for the first time because I LOVE iced tea but not the caffeine. I like juice but it's way too strong and sweet of a flavor to quench my thirst. This herbal...
My house is a NO shoes house... EEWWW is all I can think of when I got to someone house and my dd wants to play on the floor Esp when she was young. As for if I had to wear shoes in side and was going to. to get more done they would be in side only shoes.
We moved to Hawaii when I was younger. It is custom here to always remove your shoes before going in someone's home. Well custom and it keeps our horrible red dirt out of the house. I have always done it even when we moved away from Hawaii. Now we're back and we still do it. Everyone who comes to our house knows to do it as well. I have a nice bench at the door for everyone to sit down on while taking off and putting on.
That is one of flylady's suggestions I have never followed. I wear flip flops all year round (unless I will have to trudge through snow) and it wouldn't do me any good to wear them in the house. We do take our shoes off in our house, but don't have guests who stay long enough for them to have to take theirs off.
I did, and then Jeannette made the suggestion to get a pair of moccasins or slippers and keep them by the door and change into them. The kids got me a great pair of slippers that I practically live in now! In the summer I go barefoot or just socks around the house.
We don't wear outside shoes in the house. My husband & I have crocs that we only wear in the house. The girls have slippers. We ask people to take their shoes off. The children have toys and blankets on the floor and I work hard to keep the floor clean. My nlaws typically drag their shoes through my house when they are here. They know we take our shoes off but they chose to keep their shoes on. I think I have a phobia. I clean the floor as soon as they leave. I get discouraged if they come over right after I've cleaned the floors.
I have a chronic inflammatory disease which causes an arthritis problem so I pretty much have to wear shoes all the time. My 'slippers' are shoes. We don't have a rule about not wearing shoes in our house and I respect others homes who do have the rule.
I do agree that being 'fully dressed and ready' helps get things done. It helps me to get ready first thing in the morning. At very least, getting the shower out of the way helps.
My DH and I were both raised on farms so it was just second nature to take your shoes off when you entered the house and we still do this in our own home now. As for friends and family they just take their shoes off right away, we have never had to ask them to. As far as not getting anything done without shoes, I find that I probably get more done without them on!!
