As prseident I hate Bush too but that doesn't mean I am trying to brainwash people against him. I could say the same thing about FOX and any Democrat.

It's so funny how things crop up, I started my first day back at school today and about 1/2 an hour into the first class the lecturer said 'you will also remember that when you watch the news on any medium that it is one persons point of view, it is one organisations agenda. To understand a situation properly you must try other to find other sources to give a balance view, if you don't your research will be obsolete." When he said that I thought of this thread.....

Since a few people picked my comment up as offensive (which it was not meant to be), I guess I want to explain it more. Everyday the media (MSN, CNN, MSNBC etc), downplay the achievements of president Bush. We have made soo much progress in Iraq, but none of them would ever let people believe that. He lowered capital gains to 15% from 30% and lowered taxes. He made an amazing economy..and I doubt we are heading into recession. There is no proof, there needs to be two quaters of data. But if people believe we are heading into one, well, we might as well be.

Perception = reality. How you perceive things filtered through your own views and experiences is basically what shapes your reality. People will pretty much believe what they WANT to believe. People actually search out information and filter it through their perception to create a reality that that supports their beliefs. I see this with politics ALL the time, whether it's Bush, Clinton, or whatever. Basically if you believe Bush is a terrible person, you'll search out information that supports that belief. If you think all Clintons are corrupt, ditto.

Sorry for the psycho babble... I'm an ex psychology student and perception has always fascinated me.

I agree that we all need to keep ourselves informed, keep our eyes and ears open and not simply blindly believe or follow anyone.

That being said, I honestly do not believe that our government and media are working together to dupe us. We are a democratic society and have access to loads of information. Some we'll choose to believe and some we'll choose to reject . . . it all depends on what our views and beliefs are as to how we'll handle the information.

I do think that the movement is out there by individuals and groups to create a North American Union but I don't believe that our government is in cahots with Canada & Mexico to do it behind our backs. If you think so, don't blame solely the current administration but the Clinton one as well that passed NAFTA, the start of it all IMO.

As for CNN knocking down Bush, I fully agree that they do that. They routinely refer to him as Mr. Bush or simply Bush instead of President Bush which is a huge show of disrespect and their every commentary about him is that he and his staff and their decisions are wrong and out to hurt the American people. They didn't do that with former President Clinton.

I think it is scary when no one knows whos wrong and whos right. It seems things used to be black and white, but todays world has made everything grey. Whatever one can argue for, someone can give an equal argument against.
I think America is ripe for disaster when no one can stand up for anything because we arent sure of anything.
This topic of the NAU is it true or not?
Is McCain conservative or not?
Is Hillary communistic agenda or not?
Is the War in Iraq going well or not?
Was 9/11 an inside job or not?
and on and on, until you just cant fight for anything because you really cant believe in anything........

I'm not one to believe in conspiracy theories but this stuff is things I whole heartedly believe in. I wish more Americans were aware of what is slowly happening in the US and how our civil liberties are slowly being taken away for our "own good". You can't believe everything you read on the internet but this information is out there if you really look. I still remember years ago when the first microchip was advertised to be implanted into newborns for there own safety. it scared the crap out of me. I guess I'm a private person who doesn't want to be watched.
