His family forgetting him........I don't know about any of you, but I kept thinking about my great uncle. Even though he is not in a nursing home, he lives alone and sometimes needs help. It made me want to do more for him after reading this. anyone feel the same with their relatives or friends??

This is good, I was in chat and noone seems to be there... So this works for me!! Plus it will make it easier for the ones that are not here to see what we talked about too.

I liked how he took off on his own. I kept thinking, good for him! To me, this was the highlight of the book!

Very true!!

Stacey, I have to sign off now and make lunch for my munchkin. I just wanted to say, GREAT pick for our book this month! I am not sure if I would have read it otherwise. It's one of the best books I've read all year. Great job hosting, too!!!

Yes, and that the circus manager (??) was so willing to help, I thought that was cool too, how they really stick up for their own!! The guy was just so in awe of Jacob!

Do you guys have any of your own questions?? I have a few other thoughts, but I don't want to hog the thread either...

Bucsnpats, did you really like this book? Would you recommend it a friend? Did you read it because it was the new york times bestseller. Just curious on what makes you want to read a book.

Ok, I will post another thought....what did you gals think of Rosie being so "smart"....to be able to kill August the way she did?? Also I was reading the author's notes...and that was based from some true facts that she dug up about elephants....makes it pretty amazing!
