Yes, I loved this book. It was recommended to me by Aliadam actually (or she spoke very highly of it). And then I suggested it for my "real life" book club as well, and they all loved it, we had our discussion on this a few weeks ago, and it was fascinating!!

I love picking different books, and belonging to book clubs, you really read things that you probably wouldn't just pick up on your own.

I read that too. That really is amazing. That's why I think when there is an incident with an animal running away or something, I think there could be more to it. Only the animal handler knows for sure. But I think the animals know more than we give them credit for.

Yeah, I wouldn't have picked it up, but I am glad I read it. I like being in a book club because it forces you to read something, and read it the whole way through even if at first you don't like it. I have to say I was enthralled with it toward the end.

this isn't anything like i would normally read. but i am really glad that i did. i have to admit that one of my favorite parts in the book is at the end when the police are questioning if jacob is really the guys father. jacob admits that he was trying really hard to drool. i was laughing out loud. it just shows how his personality hasn't changed even thought he is in his 90's.

Oh, yeah, I liked the chapters that started when he was an old man. I really enjoyed that....and also his relationship with Rosemary.
