I think Marlena would have been crushed. (She didn't know as I recall.) Jacob was smart enough to see the necessity of it, I think. It makes me sad, but I also see the necessity of it, too.

That didn't seem to bother me either upon reading it. However, if I had been there witnessing it.........

What did you gals think of the stampede...the ones that survived the redlighting of the trestle and coming back to get even??

Don't blame them one bit. Of course, innocent people got hurt so that is never good, but I understand their anger. I just wish Walter had been with them.

Do you feel bad for the people besides the animals like the bearded lady?? They have people just staring at them?

I once went to a place that had the smallest man and we all lined up and just gawked at him.
It didn't seem like anything at the time....I went with my girlfriends who were about 17.

Now I think it would affect me.

Oh, yeah, it's like what we said before.....animals are smarter than we give them credit for.

i think this is the important part of the storyline. without it jacob and marlena may have not ended up together.

Good question!! Yes, I did feel bad for them...even the girl in the "girly show".....especially when she had to entertain them in her tent. For what a dollar??

Don't laugh, but when Marlena first came into the picture and the author was describing her costume, I thought she might have been part of the girly show or something along that line.
Also, too, because of the picture.....I looked at the pictures first, lol.

Anyhow, glad the author didn't have her involved in that.
