Best places to get new tires?

Where do you get the best deal on new tires? Do you go to a dealer? National chain (like Tires Plus)? Discount store (Walmart, Sears)? What about quality? Is it better at the dealer than WalMart? Is customer service important in your decision?

Dh has 3 classic cars that he shows at car shows and he buys all of the tires at wal-mart.

We go to Les Schwab - which I don't know if you have them where you are but their prices have always been comparable to anything I have seen and they are always helpful maintaining those tires once you have them.

My husband seems to know a local guy for everything. He gets them from a small tire company and trusts the products.

Never heard of them.

Well, dh needs new tires. We had gotten some at WalMart before, but later found out that they were the wrong size and caused problems on our van. I am sure it was just our WalMart (or those particular employees) that was uneducated. So, I don't want to go there! We got some tires at Fleet Farm before and never had a problem. But we have had work done at the Chrysler dealer in town and the customer service is really good. So, I don't know if it would be worth it to go there. I want to save money, but I want reliable service also

We have checked at Walmart in the past, but they never seem to have what we needed. My brother goes to Sam's Club and has never had any problems. We normally go to Mills Fleet Farm, my DH normally just gets the tires and then puts them on himself, they did put on the tires on my durango just because it was late fall, cold out and my DH didn't have the extra time to do it. We have always been satisfied with their prices and service.

Look online, get a price, and shop around at local places. They might price match.

My H just did that and got them for 40 dollars cheaper per tire and got free mounting.
