Handwashing dishes?

How much (on average) does handwashing dishes save? Do you handwash all of your dishes? Do you wait for a "sink-full" or do you use one of those soap-in-the-handle brushes and was as you go?

I am pretty sure it has been proven that hand washing does not save money at all. I turn the heated dry off on my dishwasher though.

I don't have a dishwasher and I use very little water to wash my dishes. I fill the sink to about 2 inches and turn my water off. I wash all the dishes adding a little water at a time as needed. After every dish has been washed, I rinse quickly. I can wash dishes using less than half a sink of water. I do that twice a day--breakfast and lunch dishes together and supper dishes in the evening. I hate doing the dishes and it makes me more aware of how many dishes I am dirty-ing as I cook. Of course, I don't know how much, if anything, is being saved versus a dishwasher because I've never used one. I just try my best to use as little water as I can.

I've read it uses the same amount of water, but I do know that soap for hand-washing is cheaper than dishwasher detergent, especially if you foam your dish soap.

I run my dishwasher at night only. I usually set it to run around 3 or 4 am when nothing else in the house is running. I mix my dishwasher soap 1/2 pwdrd dishwasher soap and 1/2 baking soda. I never use more than 2 tbsp of soap per load and I use generic rinse aid.

we hand wash all dishes. i do not want a dishwasher as they use too much water and electricity to justify having one( in my opinion). the kids do them every night as part of their allowances.
