Yep - She has a lot of energy, that one.  LOL  I am hoping that will get me going.  I can't imagine even attempting it if I was working out of the home.

Oh my.  Will definitely have to keep that in mind.

I've looked at her site a lot, and tried to follow it a few times, got the emails, blah blah blah

But her methods just did not work with our constantly changing GO GO GO household. If I was a SAHM I can see the benefit, you have more time to do things and can eek out 10 minutes here or there throughtout the day, but I've got a job and don't have time to do things her way. I just do things my way and it works out fine.

I never followed it to the T - I have 2 kids 5 &2 and I am really worn out.  I picked out a few that I like and do:

DW unloaded in the morning

Shower and am dressed in the morning before DH for work

try to do laundry a day

15 minutes for decluttering

DH makes the bed - (not perfect, but don't tell him)

I do read the emails to motivate me.

I have learnt to throw out/give away a lot of stuff, than keeping it for once in a while use.  Reduced my stuff a lot more.

Oh, and my kids' clothes and socks and shoes are laid out the previous night.

I can see myself picking the "good stuff" that works for me, too.  As I was looking through everything, today, I remembered that I had started before.  Either it was with an old email address, or I didn't sign up for the emails - not sure.

I am one of those people who needs someone to get me going, telling me what to do, step by step.  It is an issue of mine, but I guess knowing that, makes me know how to address it.  LOL

I couldn't do it. I don't like people telling me what to do and I think everybody should be able to do things their own way with their own priorities

I found that for me,it's better just to do things as I notice they need doing, catch small stuff during the week, and save the big stuff for my day off.

I sweep when I notice hair accumulating in the corners, load the dishwasher when I cook and eat, run a load of laundry when the basket gets full.

Projects like clearing out the carport get done when I have a day off and time to devote to nothing else.

I used to follow her years ago. I have to say it was my first taste of home organization/management. My mom was living with us at the time and I was working out of the home so I didn't have to worry much about the house/food.. Blessed! But once mom moved out I was a bit lost with a new baby/home so FlyLady helped me tons.

I agree some things are too rigid (we don't wear shoes in our house! LOL! Only b/c I like to keep my tile clean!) but she gave me the basics to get my own routine/control journal started. I work from home now and I'm able to have a cleaning/organizing/home management schedule, but I agree with other posts that state it isn't easy to do if you work our of the home.

I'd like to check her out again and see if there are any new things I can incorporate. I personally change my weekly routine often depending on what kind of after school activities we are doing and what not.
