I am in California and we pay a CRV on each case/6-pack/12-pack/2-liter that we buy.
We bring our bottles/cans to a Recycling Center and we are reimbursed by WEIGHT and not per item.
I can't be positive, but I really believe that we do not get all of our CRV back when we return the cans/bottles. Each redemption center varies as to the rate they pay per pound. The one near the city dump pays the highest and another one closest to us will give you more per pound if you put their bumper sticker on your vehicle.
I would love to have a machine in our stores that gives us credit like your Walmart does! It would make it easier to take back a few at a time.
