What is your first name? Connie

What are your kids’ names?
Ryan, Sean and Kyle. Ryan is 12. Sean and Kyle are fraternal twins and are 9.

Were you ready for motherhood?
I think so, or at least as much as you can be. Dh and I had been married for nine years before we had our oldest. I was ready to be a mom before dh was ready to be a dad, so I had lots of time to think about it. I was NOT ready to be a mom with three kids under the age of three, but that's what having twins does to you!

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?
I have been most inspired in my life by my Mom. She has been deceased for 11 years now and I still miss her every day. She had the ability to see the good in EVERY single person she came in contact with, regardless of race, income or station in life. She had the most generous heart and managed to give more (time and materially) on a limited budget than a lot of wealthier people could ever imagine.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they?
I chew the inside of my lip upon occasion.

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him?
I married the only guy I ever dated, and my parents love(d) him.

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?

That regardless of circumstance, their father and I did the very best that we could for them.

What did you learn the most from your mother?
See above. She was a great person and a true follower of the Lord, which is another way she inspired me to be more than I ever thought I could be.

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis?
For the most part, I live in the LOND. I have one store that does double, but their prices are too high and their coupon usage policies too restrictive. That said, I probably use 10-30 per week, depending on the sales for that week.

What is your best money saving tip?
I learned this from the Joneses project here at MS - write down every single cent you spend. Ouch! It was amazing what I discovered about our spending habits when I started doing that. Oh, and CVS - I get so many thing for free or cheap there!

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?
I am active on an organizing type board and one of the members from there referred me here for frugal living support. I tell everyone about this place!

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice?I could not begin to name just one person. This place is such a source of support and encouragement for me. I have 'met' such a variety of people here, and they all cause me to reconsider my position on things, as well as give me the encouragement to be a better mom, boss, and wife.

Have you ever met a mommysaver?
No, but I would love to!

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you?
We have been married for 21 years and there have been many things over the years. What gets me most is when he does something small and unexpected that shows me he listens and pays attention to the little stuff.

Tell us five things you like about yourself.
My beautiful brown eyes, my organizational abilities, my need to send cards to commemorate birthdays and anniversaries for family and friends, my sense of humor, and my laugh.

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work?
LOL! I am so not a crafty person. I love to read, but don't have much time for it with three boys and working full time. I do have a talent for organizing stuff -I love to have that sense of order in things.

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait?
None! I married my high school sweetheart. I started dating him when I was 14 and married him 8 years later. He was so worth it! We've had our share of trials and blessings, but I wouldn't change a minute of it.

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert?
I like country and contemporary christian. My all time favorites from back when are the Eagles and Meatloaf. Dh and I have seen Meatloaf in concert several times.

Which room in your house best reflects your List personality?
Our living room - it's warm and homey and comfy
List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world
raise my children to be good citizens of the world and followers of the Lord; be the kind of partner to my dh that I would want for myself; and go back to Hawaii

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
Oh, wow, Hard to know. My oldest would love to be a pro ice hockey player, but I remind him that he needs a Plan B. I see him being in a helping sort of field. My oldest twin, he would be a great sales person or negotiator. My youngest twin would be a great Rocket Scientist, he's such a smart little thing and very analytical!

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!)
I have never cut my boys finger nails, and my oldest is 12 yo. That is and has always been dh's job. Weird, I know! Oh, and I have never smoked a cigarette.

Are there words you live by? What are they?
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal but is completely optional. If you would like to participate please PM 2bearsmom and we will get you signed up
