Hand-me-downs~does your family accept them? - Page 2

We rarely get the chance to get hand-me-downs, but I love them when we do. I also LOVE to give hand-me-downs. I hate to see nice clothes just get thrown to the side.

i always accept them, but i know somepeople will not. when my niece, had her daughter, she told me she didn't want my stuff. she wanted all new things, even though my daughter is only nine months older! i never offered her anything else. i think it's very wastful not to share. i give all my kids old clothing now to the school clothing drives or to one of my friends.

I don't give hand-me-downs or get them. Nothing against other people's clothes but I enjoy buying dd clothes and also there is noone to give them to us. Except for our neighbor who has offered and I politely declined since we don't exactly have the same taste in clothes and DD is never in need of clothes. I sell the nicer, name brand, nwt clothes on eBay.

But it is an insult when family looks through dd closet and assumes and points out "Oh I want that when she's done wearing it."

We love them here! Although we rarely receive them due to distance from family members. I always bring a bag full of things when I visit family, it's nice to know someone else will get use out of items we no longer need.

I love hand me downs, but sometimes I give them away and never seen them worn, I don't give as much as I used to, I consign alot.

I love it when we receive my nephew's clothes! My son and nephew are almost the same size now, so those days are numbered. We also pass on my son's clothes when he has outgrown them. I believe this is a great form of recycling.

I will always accept and give hand me downs. I give my oldest son's hand me downs to my nephew who is one year younger. My daughter's I save for having garage sales since there is no one to hand down to. I then give leftovers to the pregnancy center.

Our family definitely share clothes.. And we do not just keep it in the family, we pass it between friends as well. Especially for little ones. If it is in good condition, why not. Some people cannot afford the new stuff.. I get some really awesome stuff from my sisters!!!

LOVE them!!! Hand-me-downs saved me so much $ when DD was an infant and blowing through sizes every few months! They are nice because you can pick and choose what you want.

I have a friend who refuses to even open the bags that are given to her. She takes them directly to Goodwill. That's crazy! Who knows what might be in that bag!!!

Unfortunately i have not have anyone handing me down anything for the last year or so. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted LOL!
