I don't think the economy has improved and I think some policies have made it worse. I am not sure either person can "FIX" it totally, but I trust people who have more experience with budgetary policies that have worked (Romney/Ryan) than I do the person who is increasing our national debt at an alarming rate and adding more social welfare programs we just can't afford.

I don't think it has improved, at least not for middle class America. Maybe for the people who were ultra rich to begin with but for the average Joe and Jane Johns, no I think it is worse.

I did read a short burb today that said most major business people worldwide had more faith in economy repair in Obama over Romney while more Americans had more faith in Romney's abilities. http://news.yahoo.com/executives-obama-better-world-economy-poll-092717460--business.html. The article didn't say why or list any reasons but I still found interesting..

I guess I don't read that exactly like you are. It says most think the GLOBAL economy will do better w/ Obama than Romney. Not the US economy. Most BUSINESSES, the chamber of commerce, and small business owners here in the US all think Obama's policies are hurting our businesses. They are especially hard on small business owners. So I do think it's accurate that most AMERICAN business people who care about our US economy think Romney is a better bet.

I think it is a looong process no matter who is president. Personally, I do feel that things are starting to turn for the better but, we didn't get into this shpe in four years nd we certainly will not get out of it in four years.

My friends (and my boss) who own small business have said the same thing.  Obama has made it hard for them to stay in business.  I am still on the fence.  I have no idea who will do a better job and whether the economy will even get better over the next 4 years.

I guess I hadn't thought of it that way. I can see that. I think I typically look what is good for one is good for all. Thanks for the thought.

I guess though, what I find most disturbing about Romney, is how much business HE does overseas personally. He is a businessman man, and I think we need that, but how can you expect him to care for American interests when he has already invested so much outside of the US?

Businesses go over-seas because the US tax laws practically pays their way. It is Congress with the laws that they pass that encourage businesses to go elsewhere. Tax the rich? Ha-Ha. The richest of the rich can decide to live elsewhere - places where they don't have to pay high taxes. If upper tax rates rise, it will be the middle class "rich" who get stuck again. Like in the 1980's my husband and I were paying 50% of our income in taxes. Were rich? Not at all, but we were two working professionals living in Silicon Valley and even though we could only afford a dinky 1400 sq ft house and two high-mileage used cars, the government considered us rich.

Romney is a smart business man. He needs to make wise financial business decisions for his investors and stock holders. If going overseas saves his company tons of money in taxes, that is what he needs to do.

The one thing about these forums is you see a wide variety of how it is all over the country. The past 4 years have been tough times but not nearly as bad a some. I mean there are areas such as the mid west that were hit hard and there are areas like the Northwest that seam barely touched in comparison. For myself and my family I see things improving construction is picking up slightly, home prices are rising new business is coming into the area and you see that. While I have seen a ton of foreclosures I also see a ton of people able to buy because they are no longer priced out of the market. Certain government programs of the past 4 years have helped us big but they are also not the type of programs that helped everyone.

It may be slight but improvement is coming. As for the changes this president has been working toward I can't help but feel the frustration of being dead locked on every bill that tries to make its way though.

As for the next 4 years regardless of who is elected that change will remain painfully slow. More needs to be done at a local level. The local level has a feel for its population, industries and the like.

I think a national economic boom is not going to happen it was WWII that pulled us out of the great depression. I am not sure what it will take this time.

no  but am praying it does..  we been stocking up on everything ... not much hope .. but if someone doesnt turn it around soon  we know alot of people who will be out of business.

It too far gone  don't think we ever get back to normal again .  DH and boys are busy because of people selling out ...

DH has surveyed 14 family farms since spring the are quitting and we are making alot of chances , because if Obama is back again DH says we'll have to lock up the business and live off the farm
