Some of our most common ones are
Beans and cornbread- little one gets wic making this a nearly free meal.
Yakasobi- bacon, some cabbage and a pack of ramen noodles. not the most healthy thing but its just so good.
Potato Soup and cornbread- use bacon left from breakfast and cheese to top the soup
Spaghetti (of course) and garlic bread

One of my best cheap meals is Carmel Baked French Toast Casserole. I take any leftover slices of bread that are getting stale and cube them. Then I put them into a gallon sized zippered freezer bag. When the bag is full, I make baked french toast for dinner. It is great too because the casserole has to sit in the fridge for at least 8 hours so I make it the evening before or in the morning before I leave and then I just have to pop it in the oven in the evening. We usually have this with some of my homemade applesauce or some other fruit.

Another cheap dinner is baked potatoes topped with broccoli and cheese or bacon bits (we use turkey bacon since we don't do pork) and cheese.

My other cheap meal is homemade chicken noodle soup. It is cheap because I buy the bone in chicken breasts when they are on sale. I remove the skin and de-bone the chicken myself. I use the boneless breasts for other recipes (most of which I freeze for future dinners) and then boil the skins and bones for the soup. You have to skim the soup often while it cooks because the skins are fatty but the broth tastes so good when you are done. When it cools I take out the skins and throw them away. I pull any chicken off the bones, and there is usually plenty of chicken still on the bones because I am not great to doing the de-boning. Then I add celery and carrots and noodles and seasonings. I serve this with some rolls or bread and it is my kids' favorite dinner.

I would have to say the favorite of frugal meals around our house has to be mac and cheese with hot dogs in it. Also pasta is cheap for sure. I like making just plain ole Alfredo sauce from a packet for it and making garlic bread out of sandwich bread. And fruit or homemade pudding with whip for dessert! Yum and cheap... Oh and easy for mom to make too

Tonight I made pizza using tortillas, leftover tomato paste, cheese, pepperoni and ham. Yummy! Nice crispy crust and all with leftovers! We had ramen noodles and canned pears as well.

I love cubanella peppers (long green ones) and fry them all the time. Don't understand your recipe though. Please explain because I am sure I would like. Thanks!!!

I make a version of the peppers and eggs (minus the noodles) and put it on sandwiches. I just happened upon it on YouTube watching that little old lady (Clara I think her name is) doing depression era cooking. Boy, it's good!

My favorite frugal meal is hamburger, cream of mushroom soup, and noodles. Not exactly healthy but good

Anything you can use your leftovers for and morph them into a new meal. It saves the cost of buying another protein.

Also, most recipes you can find on the back of the box, can or package of another product, they are usually less than 5 ingredients.

Chili! One big pot can feed us for several dinners and lunches and only costs about 6 dollars.

Also BBQ chicken legs, a big package is about 4-5 dollars or 2-3 dollars when they're on sale. I just spice and throw them in the oven, then douse them with BBQ sauce and serve with your fav side.We like ranch style beans (60cents a can) Makes about two or three meals.

We just stretched a 4 lb. roast into 3 days of lunches and dinners. I put it in the crockpot with a cup of water, a dash of basil and sprinkle an envelope of Lipton beefy onion soup over it and then let it cook for 7 hours. We made roast beef sandwiches the first night, had them again for lunch the next day, made baked potatoes with roast beef the next night, then had sandwiches again for lunch & dinner the 3rd day. It sounds like it would get old eating the same thing over and over but you can tweak it with some barbecue sauce or whatever. We only do this every couple weeks but we love roast so we don't mind eating it a lot. I usually make a bowl of macaroni salad that will last a couple days too, but it's another favorite so it gets eaten up too.
