80s Styles - What to wear to an 80s party

I have a pair of pleated Guess jeans that I'm going to wear. What other things can I add to my 80s look? The funnier, the better. I need to make sure they're things I can still find somewhere. I know I can get a banana clip, jelly bracelets and do some friendship pins on some cheap sneakers... any other ideas? I may convince my dh to go 80s too - what would he wear? Suggestions needed!

You shouldn't have much trouble since it is totally 80s at the mall

Color block top
Polo shirt w/collar up
'Miami Vice' look with a blazer
DAY GLO (neon orange, green, purple, yellow) - great for DH!
Long sweater w/belt around the waste (off the shoulder with tank underneath would rock!)
Big hoop earrings or dangly earrings
Blouse with large brooch at the top button
Add shoulder pads to any top!
DH could also do the mullet look with acid wash jeans, black 80s rock band t-shirt, denim jacket

Have fun!

Hey Kim, I just did a quick search and found this website that looks like it has lots of ideas and even pictures for 80's costumes for women and men. Hope it helps.

Get out the hairspray! Tease that blond hair, honey. The bigger the better.

If you can find a tight curly wig for hubby, that would be great. Remember how perms for guys were really popular?

Rent a movie called "Perfect" with John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis (ala mid-1980's) then take notes. If you have the courage to dress in the skintight aerobics outfit with the leg warmers, more power to you.

kim get some leg warmers i know they sell them in the girls department at our target so i'm sure you could get some there they may even have them in the work out or tights area for adults. that would make you so 80's.

Target has leg warmers and black concert tees. I also got some frosted cheap Wet & Wild lipstick and some realy pretty blue eye shadow. I will have to see if I can find the pics from our 80s party.

Probably won't do the skin tight leotard thing, but I'll have to get creative with my hair - it's shorter now than my profile pic. I have more bangs that I will be applying TONS of Aquanet to! I'll have to check out the legwarmers at Target. This will be fun!

Leg Warmers, high hair (Use a hair dryer and put your head upside down to really get your bangs up)! If you don't do the leg warmers...you could wear ankle socks with heels. Bracelets...those little rubber ones would be great if you could find them...oh or fingerless lace gloves (a la Madonna).

DH should go very Miami Vice

Oh i was going to say leg warmers but someone beat me to it!!!

Blue eye shadow and eye liner.

How about cutting up a sweatshirt like the Flashdance style?

What about parachute pants for the hubby? Haha!!!

Sounds soooooooooooo fun!!
