Do you think girls under the age of 18 should have to get their parents permission to have an abortion?

There are reasons for answering YES and there are reasons for answering NO. There is no clear cut answer in my honest opinion.
I tend to lean towards some kind of privacy though. If the teen is not comfortable enough to go to their parents, or they feel adult enough to make their own decision, then they should do that. I mean they thought they were adult enough in the first place to have sex, they should be able to make their own decision when dealing with the consequences.
I would hope that any teen would feel comfortable enough to just go to their parents without being pressured to do so!
However, the other side to that is until the child is 18 the parents have a right to know everything. So it is a catch 22.
So which rights do you violate, the teens or the parents?? I believe the teen should have some rights in this instance, but where do you draw the line?

i don't believe that it is violating the childs rights to require parental permission. i don't believe it is a "right" for a child to have privacy from thier own parents! Also- if a teenager gets herself into the situation and needs an abortion, then obviosly she wasn't making the right choices on her own.

Just because a teen feels old enough to do something, doesn't mean they are. Making the choice to have an abortion is a very adult decision IMO and I don't think girls that young are mature enough to make that choice on their own.
