DOG

The best costume I ever made was probably the cheapest and easiest.  I also made it the day before Halloween.  I bought a pair of thermal long underwear (plain and white), infants hat and mittens (they came as a set) that tie under the chin, and black fabric paint.  First I took the mittens and sewed (with a needle and thread) them on the hat to look like dog ears.  Then I took the black paint a dotted the hat and underwear shirt and pants.  I found an old t-shirt and rolled it up and dotted that too.  I pinned the tail on the top of the pants on back.  Some white face paint and some black dots and a black nose.  I bought the outfit for my 1 year old and it was a size 3T.  They are very clingy and stretch out well.  He wore it for two years and the next one will wear it this year and he wore it last year.  They wear it all the time to play dog.  It really comes out cute, and really has lasted. -- Valerie from FL
