Easy (and Frugal) Baked Brie Recipe

December 16, 2011 by Kimberly Danger 1 Comment

baked brie

Who knew baked brie could be so easy? Here’s a four-ingredient recipe that tastes like a million bucks but costs a LOT less.   Perfect for holiday entertaining!

Easy Baked Brie Recipe

  • 1 wheel brie cheese (I used EdenVale Brie from ALDI)
  • 1/2 C. dried cranberries
  • 1 C. chardonnay wine
  • 1/2 C. blackberry fruit spread

Preheat oven to 350.  Place unwrapped brie wheel on a piece of aluminum foil and heat until the center is heated through (about 12-15 minutes).  Meanwhile, combine wine and dried cranberries in a saucepan.  Heat until boiling.  Lower heat, and add blackberry fruit spread.  Simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes.  Pour over warm brie, and serve with crackers or cocktail bread.

I found brie for just $2.99 at ALDI – along with lots of other gourmet cheeses – making this recipe relatively frugal as well.
