Frugal Halloween Costumes: Pokemon

I took a yellow footed sleeper and added a tummy and tail out of a little brown cloth I had lying around then took some yellow, gold, brown, and copper curling ribbon and hot glued them to a yellow, polartec fleece  POKEMON hat I bought for $2 at Wal-Mart that had ear guards and fastened under her chin.  Since she was older, I added a little black nose.  -- Candice from OK

My little boy then 5 wanted to buy the Pokemon Costume Polywag.. It had a price sticker of 25 dollars at Target. I was NOT about to spend that much on a costume after all I only work part time and we watch each dollar. So we went the fabric store and bought the material to make this costume. We spent $3.50. and we made it ourselves.. So you are thinking -- but I dont sew... Well when I got home I found to my dismay that during all those years of working fulltime my handy dandy sewing machine was not in functional order.. so a quick trip to Walmart and we found this great clear drying glue for about 3 more dollars...and the project continued without a hitch. My son still brags about his great pokemon costume and wants to make his costume every year~~~ I saved about 18 dollars and we had a blast. -- Mona from VA
