Flower Party

DECOR: Turn your living room into an underwater world! Drape green and blue streamers from one end of your ceiling to the other.  Cute out 8-10" shapes (fish, starfish, seahorse, etc.)  and hang them from the streamers.  Decorate a table with a "fish net" over a bright table cloth, on top place sea shells, silver and gold bead strands. Sprinkle with tropical confetti. Colors should be yellow, blue and green.

ACTIVITIES:

Have a hunt for underwater treasure! Hide gold chocolate coins in a specific room, and give each child a treasure chest in which to collect them.  The child who collects the most coins wins.

Make Sand Castles With Sand Dough
Sand Dough:
4 Cups Sand
2 Cups Cornstarch
1 Tbs. + 1 tsp Cream of Tartar
3 Cups Hot Water

Mix sand, cornstarch and cream of tartar in large saucepan. Stir in hot water and cook over medium heat until stiff and water is absorbed.  Cool.  Kids can form castles with their hands or use small sand molds. Coat molds with a vegetable spray first for easy removal.

FOOD:  Anything ocean-related; Goldfish crackers, blue-green punch, blue Jell-O, seafood salad, etc. Try
SAND CUPS as a dessert

FAVORS: Disney's Little Mermaid paraphernalia (coloring books, etc.), Shark fruit bites, plastic sand pails and shovels
