Homemade Gift Idea: Sugar Body Scrubs

December 21, 2010 by Kimberly Danger 6 Comments

Exfoliating Brown Sugar Body Scrub

These sugar scrubs are fun to make and give as gifts.  Use a small jar with decorative ribbon to make it look extra special.  Or, just use them to pamper yourself!

Sugar Exfoliating Foot Scrub:
One part petroleum jelly
One part white sugar
A few drops fragrance oil (optional)

Slather on dry, cracked feet.  Put on socks and after a half hour or so, scrub off.  Your feet will be silky smooth.

Brown Sugar Exfoliating Scrub:
One part petroleum jelly
Two parts brown sugar  (add a little more petroleum jelly if this ratio is too thick for you)

This exfoliating scrub works all over the body, including lips.

I’m a massage therapist and one I use for myself is 1 part sugar or sea salt and one part olive oil 🙂

I use organic sugar and virgin coconut oil. Coconut oil is fabulous for your skin!

Has anyone ever tried this with tea tree oil in stead?

I don’t think you’d want to use tea tree oil instead–from what I understand, tto is antiseptic and needs dilution. You could probably add several drops though.

by “part” do you mean 1 cup (for example) sugar & 1 cup pet jelly? just add & mix together?

Yes, ratios are inferred when I say “one part” or “two parts.” The amount is up to you.
