Hip Mom Rule
#18: Inspire, Don't Judge ©
Heidi A. Burns
I am either the best person in the
world to shop with or the greatest nightmare because
I believe in brutal honesty when shopping with a
friend. I once told my mother-in-law to put back the
coat she was pining after because it made her rear
look ginormous. Yes, my mother-in-law. The words
were no sooner off the tip of my tongue than I was
looking for a safe place to hide. It shouldn’t have
been a surprise that she appreciated my honesty. She
would have blown too much money on something that
didn’t make her look fabulous, and I have too much
respect for her to have let that happen.
Milestones: Don't Knock It
'Til You Try It: The Family Nap
by
Connie Colwell Miller
Every
afternoon around two o'clock, I announce to my children, "Okay, rest
time!" I lug my one-year-old daughter onto the "big bed," as we
call it, crawl up and among the pillows, turn over on my side, and
nestle her in tight. My four-year-old son hoists himself up on the bed
behind me and cuddles up against my back.
Release from Mother Guilt
By Patricia Morgan
Why do many parents, mothers in particular, feel guilty
when they take time for themselves?
Well Balanced Moms Have More Fun
By Aurelia Williams
Or should I say "Well Balanced Moms Are
More Fun"? Let me ask you... When was the last time you
had lunch with some girl friends, or went on a girl's
night out? When was the last time you went on a romantic
weekend getaway with your spouse? If you can't remember,
we definitely have to talk.
