You may have heard lately that a good way to save on energy is by unplugging appliances while not in use so they stop to draw power. I did a little homework on the subject and found that the only appliances that continue to draw power while turned off and still plugged in are ones with devices such as timers, ready lights, LED displays, etc. For example, unplugging your toaster won't help unless it's the "fancy" kind with an indicator light or LED display.
