Real Mom Profile

12.05.2005

Name: Kimm
Age:  39
Home:  Minnetonka, MN

Family's Names and Ages:
Mark - 38

Raelin - 5

Occupation:
I am a full-time stay-at-home mom, have a flexible part-time job at a local insurance agent's office and volunteer, volunteer, volunteer

If I had a day to myself...:
1) sleep in
2) take a long bath
3) get a massage
4) eat a fabulous dinner
5) go out to the orchestra

Money Saving Tips:
Stop looking at the Sunday paper ads - it only makes you think that you "need" something

Bargain Hunting Strategies:
Target clearance and second hand stores are my best bets for deals.  I also keep a list of the things that we need (now or in the future - e.g. size bigger snow boots, etc.) and keep the list in my purse so I know what "deals" are necessary.

Products we can't live without:
Thai Rice noodles - WE LOVE THEM.

In the Kitchen:
Cookies:  Mix a double batch of batter, and only bake a dozen (1 cup of just about any typical cookie batter can be divided into a dozen cookies).  Freeze the rest of the dough in 1 dozen sized batches AND the next few batches of cookies are fresh and easy (just thaw the dough in refrigerator for 48 hours and bake as usual)

Organization:
Limit "storage" space and get rid of things that you don't need or use (please donate for re-use!)
