Name:
Jess
Age: 26
Home: Boyceville, WI
Family's Names and Ages:
DH Tim (33)
DS Rugby (5)
DS Riley (almost 4)
DS TJ (4 weeks)
Occupation:
Before kids I was a Billing and Enrollment Rep
for a major insurance company and helped
companies learn to use the website. Now, I'm a
Domestic Engineer LOL!
If I had a day to myself..
I think that I'd probably go crazy! That's an
awful lot of time to oneself when you are so
entirely used to having someone with you all the
time. But, I'd enjoy some time reading and
catching up with friends, maybe get a massage.
Money Saving Tips:
I take my own pictures of the kids for their
milestones and have them printed on
Snapfish
for less than studio pictures. I use sheets and
our back yard for backdrops.
Once a month, or every other month I go through
the house and see what food we have and make a
list, then I make meals from there. I can
usually get a week or two of meals without
buying anything more than bread, milk, and eggs.
Bargain Hunting Strategies:
Target has great clearance stuff. I walk just
where I know the endcaps have clearance stuff on
and try to stock up for gifts and holidays.
Products we can't live without:
The internet! We shop for deals all the time!
(Plus I'd be lost without my discussion
boards!!)
In the Kitchen:
Don't be afraid of spices. We have tons of them
that we use and experiment with. My favorite
meal is roast chicken with mashed potatoes and
gravy.
1 tsp each: rosemary, marjoram, sage and salt
Place inside a whole chicken with some onion.
Under the skin, or over the top mix 1 tsp each:
rosemary, sage, and marjoram.
Place in your roasting pan with some chicken
broth and roast all day at 275-300. During the
coarse of the day, baste the chicken with the
juices. When you see that the pan is getting a
bunch of juices, pull some off and keep to make
gravy with. YUM!
Organization:
I'm not terribly organized, but the best thing I
do is to keep up with the clutter and put
everything in it's place RIGHT AWAY and not pile
it up and wait to put it away...very helpful
with 2 active boys and a newborn!
