Woo-hoo! I hit the Target Easter clearance after church this morning, and even though the signs still read either 50% off (candy) or 70% off (everything else) I knew Target’s typical holiday markdown schedule and used the red scanners to price-check. Sure enough, it was all ringing up 90% off! I was doing my happy dance!
I got ALL of the things pictured here for $8.24 + tax after my REDcard savings (see my Target receipt below). My son “helped” me pick things out. We’re going to make May Day baskets with most of what we got – I don’t need any more candy around the house. I did let him “splurge” and get the chocolate bunny that the Easter Bunny didn’t bring him this year. Correction: I let him get THREE chocolate bunnies (and one for his sister). Why not? They were only $.29 each!
My husband saw all of this and wondered if there is a 12-step program for Target addicts like myself. He calls our basement pantry “Target North” because most of my stockpile comes from there.
Do you love Target clearance searching as much as I do? Be sure to check out our Target Savers Facebook Page. There are lots of deals we post there and not here on Mommysavers (we don’t want to overwhelm you with too much Target - although I’m not sure if there is such as thing!).

I am jealous. All that was left at mine yesterday was M&M’s.
It sure looks like you saved quite a bit! Let me ask you, what are you going to do with all the easter candy? I would go for the pails and decorations, but the candy would go to waist in my house.
I’ve bought all the candy I can for care packages for soldiers deployed oversees. We might not need it, but they will sure appreciate it!
That’s what I was wondering….what do you do with all the chocolate bunnies. I bought some coconut m&m’s to use in chocolate chips cookies, but I don’t know what I would do with everything else. That’s what I always wonder about with those extreme couponers….do you really need 63 bottles of mustard or several hundred boxes of pasta??????
nice:)
Did you see the adorable Peeps craft in Women’s Day? Very cute: http://www.womansday.com/Media/Galleries-slideshows/Little-Grow-Peep

Leah – We used all the candy, buckets, and Easter grass in making May Day baskets for neighborhood friends (except for the bunnies). The bunnies we will just “enjoy” as our treats. It’s not as much chocolate as it looks: They’re hollow.
Lindsey – Thanks for the link! I will add that to my list for Peeps crafts for next year!
I too went this morning after looking up the schedule and the 70% off sign was still there so I was bummed. I did the scanner, but didn’t do the math in my head, soI bought two things and came home irritated. I did ask the manager when the next markdown would be and he said he didn’t know. I don’t know if he was lying or just oblivious.
Later in the day I realized I DID get the things 90% off, so I ran over there. It was slim pickings, but I got a bunch of felt baskets for 40 cents for gifts and some craft kits for my kids for next year (they are too young to “get it” now). The candy was lacking.
I’m considering going to another one tomorrow to see what I can find. Since thie signs weren’t changed I hope it turned people off from buying some things that I might be able to get tomorrow!
I went the day after Easter to buy bakeware. Our Target was 50% off the next day. I purchased muffin pans, cookie sheets, cookie cutters, springform cake pans. I love to bake, so these were a great deal. I didn’t buy candy because it was only 30% off most of it.
If there is a 12 step program, then I really need to join!! I bought 12 of the same Easter tins, 12 3-pack Mighty Beanz toys, 6 bags of crinkly shred, 1 Easter rubber stamps egg decorating kit, and a pack of Lip smackers lip gloss. My total was $9 and my receipt says I saved nearly $76! I’m using the tins and Mighty Beanz toys as party favors at my children’s birthday parties.
Rachelle – Great finds! I’m afraid if there were a 12-step program I’d be more of an enabler than anything else!
I work at Target, so I got to see the great deals coming through the lines all day. I am finished for next Easter and yes, I spent quite a bit in the end, but not near as much as I would have at full value. I bought 2 Mrs Potato Head Spud Bunnies, 2 Easter Sing-a-Ma-Jigs, 2 Imaginext Batman Basket Stuffers, Play-Doh Eggs, 4 different Pre-filled egg hunt kits, Little People Eggs and Little People gift sets, Easter Egg Magna-Doodles, Easter Slinkies, Easter Plates, an Easter Cookie Jar, Easter Bowls, Easter serving plate, 2 Easter baking pans, several different egg decorating kits and I am sure other things I can’t remember right now. These were spread out over 50-75%off. Then I bought 4 of the prefilled Phineas and Ferb Easter Baskets at 90% off to give as prizes at my son’s birthday party. They were 1.50 each so it was an awesome deal.
