Christmas Treats: Jell-O Popcorn

jell-o popcorn

This Jell-o popcorn recipe is an easy one to bring to friends and neighbors.  Make a big batch, because you’ll definitely want to keep some for yourself!

Christmas Treats:  Jell-O Popcorn

  • 8 C. popped popcorn
  • 1/4 C. (1/2 stick) butter
  • 3 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1/2 C. white or brown sugar
  • 1 small envelope Jell-o or other brand gelatin in the color/flavor of your choice

Preheat oven to 300.  In a medium saucepan, melt butter.  Stir in corn syrup and sugar.  Next, add gelatin and remove from heat.  Pour over popcorn, tossing to coat well.  Spread on a cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes.  Remove from oven, and separate pieces once cool.

These Christmas Treats are great to deliver to friends and neighbors in the holiday tins that you find at the thrift store.  I sprayed mine with chalkboard paint for an updated look (check out my other Chalkboard Paint Projects).

  2. I love Jell-o popcorn! I’ve made before in red and blue (and left some plain white) for the Fourth of July. Such a great and easy treat.
