What Funny Things Do Your Kids Do/Say:
My 4 year old has a quote...One day my sister in law and I were talking
about goals and my son joined into the conversation. I asked him
if he had a goal and he said, "I have a goal, Mama; I just don't
know where it is." That same son also told me
while riding in the car one day, how you make a tater tot, "You
take a tater and you put it in bread and then it comes out tater tots."
The Most Rewarding Thing About Parenting:
I could name just one thing. I often just watch my kids playing
and think to myself how lucky I am that I have three beautiful and
healthy children. As the old saying goes..."My cuppeth
overflows".
The Most Challenging Thing About Parenting:
Patience, Patience, Patience. Dinner time is always especially
stressful. With two that are only 10 1/2 months apart, they are
both very demanding and dinner time is extremely demanding. They
both usually want something at the same exact time and I have to decide
who gets what first.
Favorites:
We have a whole library of every book you can imagine. We don't
have any particular one that we like best - we LOVE them ALL.
Money Saving Tips:
Budget. I make a list of what I need for the week and I have an
estimate of what each one costs so I write the price down by the item on
my list. If something is on sale, then bonus or if something else
is more than what I predicted, then it evens out. I am usually
either right on budget or under. I usually shop more than one
store because I search ads for the best price. Sometimes a lot of
running around but it has been worth it since all stores are relatively
close.
Best Bargain Ever:
I shop Garage sales and Goodwill stores. I can usually find such
cheap clothes for under a dollar. Even if they have a stain or
two, I bring them home, put stain stick on them before washing and once
out of the wash, they are as good as new.
In the Kitchen:
I subscribe to www.budget101.com.
They have recipes in there for just about everything. They have a
section in there for making your own shake and bake and fish fry
coating. You can truly make just about anything with your own
ingredients and save a ton.
Organization:
I use big buckets for certain toys for my kids. For example, big
toys like trucks and cars go into the toy box but little toys like Lego
blocks and other blocks have there own bucket with a label and a picture
of the item on the bucket so my kids know what items go in that bucket.
