Cat in the Hat

CAT IN THE HAT

Several years ago, when my son was 2, he was The Cat in the Hat for Halloween.  I took a black sweatsuit as the base.  I didn't have to do anything to the pants.  On the top, I cut a scrap of white fabric for the "belly" of Cat.  I attached it with a few dots of hot glue.  I then folded scraps of red fabric into shape for his necktie.  You could probably buy the hat, but I made it from the same scrap fabric.  I covered a piece of foam with black scrap material and pinned it to his waistband (to remove for riding in the car seat).  He wore his black high top tennis shoes and was complete!  Very cute. -- Michelle from FL
